As you can probably tell by looking at the cover, Sinatra tells the story of Frank Sinatra’s life. The movie relives the major events in Sinatra’s life from childhood until his return from retirement. Sinatra actually collaborated in the making of this documentary by providing his own vocals for most of the 24 renditions of his songs. This 4 hour mini series provides everything a Sinatra fan would love.
To begin this review I would not consider myself a Frank Sinatra fan. To tell you the truth I really haven’t ever listened to any of his music. Simply put his music was a little before my time (I was born in 1988). Despite this fact I didn’t think this was a bad mini series. I obviously would have gotten more out of the mini series if I was a Frank Sinatra fan. One thing I thought was good about the mini series was the attention to detail. For a mini-series I believe it does a good job of creating an atmosphere of the different time periods. I also thought the acting was pretty good. If you like Frank Sinatra’s music you should also like this mini-series because of the 24 Frank Sinatra songs included.
As far as recommending this mini-series it mostly comes down to if you are a Frank Sinatra fan or not. If you like Frank Sinatra I can’t imagine you not liking this mini-series. The mini-series is well put together and is pretty informative for Sinatra fans. While it is a pretty good mini-series I don’t really think non-Sinatra fans will like it much. For movies and mini-series like this, if a person like it mostly depends if they liked the person that the movie/miniseries is about. So if you are a Frank Sinatra fan I would recommend picking this up. If you’re not a Frank Sinatra fan I would recommend you not pick this up.
My Rating:

While it is a good mini series, I am not a Frank Sinatra fan so I didn’t have a full appreciation of the movie.
